Hui A Te Reo

All children research and prepare a Te Reo speech, which is presented at a class level. From here the best are presented at a Team and / or our School Hui a Te Reo Festival.

School Festivals All children are required to participate in our Poetry Off By Heart and Speech Festivals at a class level. Children from each Team are selected to represent their Team at the School–wide Festivals.
Super Arts This is a performing arts competition and features Dance, Debating, Kapa Haka, Drama, Singing, Orchestra and Rock Band on a two year rotation. Super Arts is aimed at the elite students / groups in the performing arts across the Central Region.
Musical Soirée Held at the end of Term 3 each year a unique opportunity for our music groups to perform alongside primary and secondary schools. This is hosted at our Performing Arts Centre Te Tihi.
School-Wide Sports Events Athletics Day, Swimming Sports, Cross Country. All students in our school participate in all three of these events.
Super Sports Super Sports events feature involvement of the top sports people from each Intermediate School in the Wanganui, Manawatu, Wairarapa and Horowhenua region. It is competitive across a number of sporting codes with emphasis placed on development of high levels of skill, fair play and pride in representing the school.
School Mathex Students are selected to participate in our school-wide Mathex Competition. Students are involved in problem solving competitions at a class, team and school level.
School Science and Technology Fair All children are expected to present a science investigation or a technology design project for our School Science and Technology Fair mid year. Science& Technology Fairs encourage development of creative and investigative aspects of Science & Technology.
